Forth

With the invention of Google Earth and being totally inspired by the photographs of Yann Arthus-Bertrand, I decided to embark on an ambitious project photographing the area either side of the Forth river from the estuary to the source. The River Forth has been a constant landmark for me when I was growing up in Stirling and now also where I live in Edinburgh. Along with The Ochils and the Pentland Hills, the River Forth has been an ever present landmark that facinates me and keeps drawing me back. The downside is the expense of arranging flights as well as the inconsistent weather in Scotland. I also found out through beginning the project that I suffer from motion sickness that affects my balance for a day afterwards. I can complete an hour flight before it starts to affect me badly.  Hanging out of a plane window zooming in and out of the ground doesn’t help either though!  I will have to overcome this obstacle before I can continue any further up the river.  Maybe I will just convert to ground - based photography from a boat!
